Independent Assurance Over Our Security and Availability Controls

Our security and compliance program is built around maintaining effective controls, managing risk, protecting information and systems, and supporting the availability of the services our customers rely on. As part of this program, AIS undergoes an independent SOC 2® Type II examination covering the Security and Availability Trust Services Criteria.

The examination is performed by an independent CPA firm and evaluates both the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of applicable controls over a defined examination period. This provides customers and other specified parties with independent assurance regarding the controls AIS has implemented to support its service commitments and system requirements.

What is SOC 2® Type II?

SOC 2® (System and Organization Controls 2) is an examination framework developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service organizations.

A SOC 2 Type II examination assesses:

  • The suitability of the design of applicable controls; and
  • The operating effectiveness of those controls over a defined examination period.

Unlike an assessment performed at a single point in time, a Type II examination evaluates how applicable controls operated throughout the specified examination period.

Our SOC 2 Type II report provides customers and other specified parties with independent assurance regarding the controls AIS maintains to support the security and availability of its systems and services.

How We Protect Our Systems and Services

Our security and compliance program incorporates governance, risk management, operational oversight, monitoring, and continuous improvement. These practices help us identify and manage risks, protect customer information, maintain reliable services, and respond to changes in our technology and threat environment.

Our SOC 2 Type II examination includes controls relevant to the following Trust Services Criteria:

Security

We maintain controls designed to provide reasonable assurance that information and systems are protected against unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, and other events that could compromise our ability to meet our service commitments and system requirements.

Our approach includes practices related to areas such as access management, risk management, security monitoring, change management, incident management, and other safeguards supporting the protection of our systems and information.

Availability

We maintain controls designed to provide reasonable assurance that our systems are available for operation and use as committed or agreed.

Our availability practices support the reliability and resilience of our services through operational monitoring, risk management, business continuity and recovery processes, and other measures appropriate to our service commitments.

Our Security and Compliance Program

SOC 2 is one component of AIS’s broader approach to security, risk, and operational governance. We continually maintain and improve practices supporting:

  • Information security
  • Risk management
  • Governance and oversight
  • Access management
  • Operational resilience
  • Security monitoring
  • Incident management
  • Business continuity
  • Change management
  • Continuous improvement

Security is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time exercise. We regularly review our controls, assess risks, monitor our environment, and improve our processes to respond to evolving threats, business requirements, technology changes, and customer expectations.

Independent Assurance Through Our SOC 2 Type II Report

Our SOC 2 Type II examination provides independent assurance regarding the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of applicable controls over the examination period.

The resulting report can support customer vendor-management, security-review, procurement, and due-diligence activities by providing detailed information about our system and the controls relevant to the Security and Availability Trust Services Criteria.

Which Trust Services Criteria are included?

Our SOC 2 Type II examination covers controls relevant to the Security and Availability Trust Services Criteria.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Maintaining effective security and availability controls requires continuous attention.

AIS continues to strengthen its security and compliance program through governance, risk management, monitoring, operational oversight, periodic assessments, and ongoing improvement. These activities help us protect customer information, manage evolving risks, and support the reliable delivery of our services.
